Is it free?
You get a free 30-day trial key with all features. After the trial, ask us for a personal license.
Which languages does it speak?
PollyReader is made for German (five voices), and it can also read English, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Turkish and Swedish.
Is the text I read stored anywhere?
No. Your text is sent over an encrypted connection only to turn it into speech. It is never stored in readable form or logged; we only count characters for your allowance.
Windows says "Windows protected your PC". Is that normal?
Yes. PollyReader is small independent software that is not yet code-signed, so Windows asks once. Click "More info", then "Run anyway".
Does it work offline?
New text needs an internet connection. Everything you have already heard is kept on your PC and replays instantly, even offline.
Can I use it on several computers?
A key is for one PC. Changing computers? Open Settings → License → "Deactivate this PC", then activate on the new one.
Mac, Linux or phone?
Windows 10 and 11 only for now. You can save any reading as an MP3 and listen on your phone.
